28th National Veterans Wheelchair Games
From July 25-29th, 2008, Omaha will serve as host city for the world's largest annual wheelchair sports competition.
Nearly 600 athletes will participate in 16 competitive events, and veterans represent military service ranging from the World War II era to the current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Events will be located at the Qwest Center Omaha as well as venues throughout the metropolitan area.
The Games are sponsored by the Great Plains Paralyzed Veterans of America and the Department of Veterans Affairs, Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System.
